Sept 12, 2009 Day 15

By 7:20 this morning we were listening to a CD we bought the day before. Called: " Downhomer Nfld's favourites. At 8 we were on the road. We drove all day from the West to the East coast, and hoped to make it all the way to St. John's. But we couldn't. We finally found a campsite that was still open. A lot are already closed for the season. It was off the highway quite a bit, but well worth the drive. Bellevue Beach Campground
We were right on the water on a peninsula.

After the long drive, we were longing for a relaxing shower, but they cost 3.00 each or 6.00 for us all. We decided to stay dirty. lol.

A little exercise after the long drive.

Never difficult to find the perfect spot in the off season.
Love to you all

  1. A week late putting this post on but I wanted to make sure it was on the same day as your trip.

Today was absolutley gorgeous for the kids. They had there soccer finals. Both had to play at 9am and thankfully the fields were right beside each other so we could watch both games at the same time.

Erin was playing in the "A" semi-finals but unfortunately lost 0-3. Not even one goal :( Oh well they had fun. So that was the end of the day for Erin. She received a participation medal.

Kelly-Lynn on the other hand was playing for the "B" semi-finals. It was a avery exciting game. They were up 1-0 and the other team tied it. Then they scored again and the other team tied it. This went on until it was 3-3 and the game ended. Since the game cannot end in a tie they had to play 5 mins Over Time (OT). KL's team has an awesome goalie and stopped many balls from going in. With about 30 seconds left in the game the winning goal was scored. Kelly-Lynn was going on to the "B" finals.

I am going to make this part very short. Kelly-Lynn played against the VanVark and Hoekstra girls and they had never won against that team, actually nobody has ever won against that team except in the game that counted and it put them into the "B" side. By the time the score was 0-3 KL's team gave up and lost 0-9, I think. by that time who really cares the kids just did not care anymore. Kelly-Lynn came out with a Silver in the "B" finals.

I have some pictures I am going to email to you so you can add them into your book if you wish.

Hope the weather stays great for you. Have lots of fun and the kids can't wait until you are home again.

  2. Hi Gang We can't wait 'til you're home either, but it certainly looks like you are having a fabulous time and enjoying every minute of it. If you're not going to bother showering, at least please remember your deoderant.

    Happy Belated Birthday Marcel.
    Love Janice & Paul
