Another warm sunny day. Immy and Jennie
decided to go on a 1.5 hr sailing trip.
It's great to have the campsite on the edge of town, we could walk everywhere. Right on the downtown road, 2 men were building canoes. This was a one way road, so a little more room to work, I guess.
Immy and Jennie boarding the sailboat.
Here we're waving off the brave sisters.
This is the restaurant we ate in last night.
It's such a picturesque fishing village, perched on the edge of the Atlantic.
While the ladies were sailing, the three of us went to a fishing museum.
This lobster was 25 lbs and was a former resident of the aquarium. The largest lobster caught in Nova Scotia was 44 lbs and was probably 50 yrs. old.
This shows where the plugs are positioned, it prevents the lobsters from attacking each other once they're caught.
The sailboat on the right is the one on the right. The weather was very calm for them.
On our way back, we walked through a few back streets. This Anglican church looks like a painting. We left Jennie behind, and she bought more jewelery. Her 5th piece since we left. No gift shop gets by Jennie.
At 2:15 we left Lunenburg to head to Dartmouth to visit our dear friends Tom and Gerda, from our young people days. We arrived in Dartmouth (Shubie campgrd) at 4:30. At 5, we arrived at their home and first did shopping in her little store in the basement. Mostly goodies. Very lekker.

How nice of the spammers to boost your comment count. :p
ReplyDeleteLooks soooo beautiful! Glad you had a nice visit with Tom & Gerda, and that church is indeed beautiful. LOL about Aunt Jennie and her jewelery addiction!
What a beautiful, quaint village. Your pictures and the smiles on everyone's face says it all. It sounds like this trip is turning out to be everything you hoped it would be. Treasure every moment of it. Love Janice & Paul
ReplyDeleteMany pictures bring back memories from our trip to the East coast 4 years ago.
ReplyDeleteDid you not see the Blue Nose 2 in Lunenberg?
When we were there she was stationed in the harbour. I believe Lunenberg is her home.
We're glad you have such good weather. Everything looks so much more beautiful when the sun shines. Love, Herman and Amanda.
