Sept. 2, 2009 Day 5

Quite cool this morning, but it warmed up to 26c. By 9:15 we were at Kings Landing Historical Settlement. It takes 2-4 hrs walking, but we took 6. Sooo, a lot of pictures were taken.

butter churner

Isn't this the coolest bathtub?

Print shop

As unusual, the men loved this.

A barn full of old carriages.

Didn't take Peter long to dive into this cute little outhouse.

This lovely tray had an heating element under it. Boiling water was poured in the bottom.

Drill for drilling holes in beams. Love the little seat attached.

Very steep stairs.

Sawmill

Inside the sawmill

Very picturesque

Time for lunch, took a deep breath, and paid the bill.

But, it was lovely inside.

Knitted long johns.

A horse walking on a belt. The belt moves the saw back and forth to cut huge logs.

Blacksmith

Jennie's new friend. A huuuge ox.

There wasn't a preacher around. Sooo... My sermon was great Mr. Peter D. You would have stood up and applauded. Unfortunately all I had with me was the tour booklet, so I had to wing it!!

Another display of carriages. Love the setting.

I'm making sweaters for all the grand-children and long johns for the older ones.

I could not get this little children's bath tub to turn 180 degrees. That's why it's sideways.

This lovely home belonged to a prosperous farmer
A magnificent garden, and running water in the house. 1840

Running water in a stone sink.

Never seen a round suitcase before.

1830 Irish immigrants received a land grant from the river and was required to build the road to his grant before bldg his own log cabin.

We arrived at Bay of Fundy National Park at 7. We had a great day. The weather was awesome.

  1. Hi Gang
It looks like you are having a fabulous trip! We love the pictures!
What is a love house Alida? We newbies need a little more info about your whereabouts. What province, what major city you are near, north or south in the province, etc.
Keep the info and pictures coming. We absolutely love them. Love Janice & Paul
