Sept. 4, 2009 Day 7

We were up at 7, and left the campground by 9. Our first stop was Joggins, NS. to visit the joggins fossils centre. On our way there the alternator was not recharging. The guys decided we needed a new/rebuilt alternator. The first alternator did not cut it. First we did a tour of the centre and walked down to the cliffs.

This fossil was in the museum
Again a lovely sunny day to enjoy the scenery.

This is a closeup picture of the bladder wrack I talked about yesterday. It probably goes well with my chlorophyll.

This fossil we found on the ocean floor. But the sign said not to take any fossils off the beach. So, we left it. With each tide, new and incredible geological riches are revealed by erosion.

This looks like a lobster behind those rocks. The colors were awesome.

Jennie is combing the ocean floor before the tide comes in again.

We back tracked again to Amherst. About one hour travelling and found a Car quest shop. Yes they had one, and I suggested they right away get a spare belt, which they did. It took them only a short time to get us humming again.
Seems like all car parts ending with "TOR" are not in our favour. Carburetor, radiator, radiator. (Trouble On Route)

By 12:30 we were on the road again. Off to Lunenburg. We passed a banjo player sitting on the side of the highway, playing and singing. To late to get a picture. We took 2 wrong turns, and Peter and Immy are now leading. We've always been in front because we have GPS.

We arrived at the campground at 5:30, and left to go for supper along the water.

Immy and Jennie decided on lobster..

Gorgeous sunset over the docks. We walked back to our site just before dusk, but Peter and Jennie did some more exploring.

Tomorrow, we hope to spend most of the day in this quaint little town, and then off to see our friends Tom and Gerda in Dartmouth, NS.
love Alida and Marcel/mom and dad

  3. Alida, you said that everything ending in tor has been giving you problems. We hope the next one is not the motor.
