We're back---in Nova
Scotia and are able to blog again--only 9 days behind. To those who have trouble with posting a comment on the blog, just email us, and I will post it for you.

We arrived at the ferry at 9:15 in the morning, to catch the 10:30 crossing. While standing in line Jennie and I got out of the motor home and decided we wanted close up pictures of the ship. We were summoned by a security guard. We were in a restricted area without wearing security visibility vests. So he called another security guard to shuttle us back to the motor home. It turned out his name was Peter
Adams, and he gave us lots of information about
Nfld.
Here we are being escorted back to our motor home.

We found a little corner where we could sit in comfort.

Seeing as how it was a sunny warm day, we spent some time on the upper deck.

I was pretty nervous about the long trip, but spending time outside really helped. And no
gravol. I did not want to miss anything.

A gorgeous day.

We were sitting right across the entertainment hall, and soon the 3 sisters were to investigate. Here one of the singers is playing the mandolin. He played the mandolin, guitar, violin and
accordion.

Their names were Bugs and Debby Green. Very funny and entertainment. In the afternoon they put on another show and Peter joined us as well. This
violin has no top to it.

On the end of the show, Bugs picked some ladies from the audience to play spoons. Jennie was having a ball, especially after a she had a few wines.
lol
All the ladies got to wear this rain hat and had to repeat a sentence in a very heavy
Nfld accent. They all received a CD.

Reading, to make the trip go faster.

Our first glimpse of
Nfld. Newfoundland, colloquially "The Rock," is a geological paradise for its coastal rock exposures. Port aux basques is where we docked.

At 5:30 we were allowed back to our motor home. At 6, we were off the boat. Our first glimpse of
Nfld was foggy, rocky and cute little houses. Our trip to our first campsite was only 30 minutes from the docking. Rolling grassy hills all around us with some fog. But that was the only fog we ever had in the 9 days we were there. We stayed our first night in Doyles, Nfld.
Stay tuned for more.

Is gemaakt bij now. Ik heb wel een keer een stukje geschreven, maar

Interessant om al die wonderlijke huisjes, kerken, auto’s enz. te zien.
Is the weather much colder dan in Canada Ontario were you live.
Hi Neighbors. Looks like you're enjoying the beautiful scenery. We had a great time camping as you can see by the picture. We had a wonderful view, the weather was great. Sunny and warm everyday, cool at night for sleeping . The neighbors were very quiet, didn't even know they were not there. LOL.
ReplyDeleteWe left on Sunday afternoon, the day after everyone moved out of your house, but first we watered the plants and set the alarm just as you asked us to do. We found out from Josh when he came out to visit us at camp that your pastor came back to sweep up in the basement and set the alarm off. Josh went up to the house after he came down quickly by car to fetch someone to calm the alarm. Josh had no idea how to turn it off because we never had any reason to do so, and I forgot to tell him, however he said he figured some way to stop the noise. So I had to rack my brains because we didn't talk about turning the alarm off before you left and I told him its like ---- or maybe their phone number. So he went home that night and I quess he got it right because when we came home on Thursday afternoon David and I went up to check on the house and plants and the alarm was OK. Phew!!! Our apologies to your pastor, we didn't think anyone was coming back. Josh was looking after 2 homes for a few days.
By the way, we didn't just park the trailer at your place for me to take a picture of it. We were having wood pellets delivered today from Home Hardware (225 bags or 3 skids full) so David just drove it up and parked it for the time being and we will bring it home soon, we had to move the cars out of the way too. Thanks for letting us park (camp) at your house. That's all for now folks. Have a great time, take lots of pics of Nfld. We hope to be going to Nfld. by motorcycle in the next year or two. Safe trip home hopefully without any mechanical mishaps and we'll see you next week some time. Love to all . Debby
Glad you're back online! We were starting to get worried. Glad you survived the trip, Mom. And the violin has no top on it b/c it is an electric violin. Can't wait to see pics of Nfld.!
ReplyDeleteI always wondered where we always got the ideas to get us into trouble, by us I mean my brothers and myself. It must come from the Steenwyk side!!! LOL :)
