This morning it was a bit cool inside the motor home. Only 9c and 7c outside.

We had another gorgeous sunny, clear day, and we drove along the coastline. This little lighthouse was in
Codroy. It was very, very cold and windy along the coast. But beautiful.

Coastline

Coastline from a distance.

Oh, oh, the brake line is
clanging--they'll fix later. We did a quick stop at this 50's garage. Just for show.

Very cute. Even the A&W tray was attached to the car.

A wooden bridge we had to cross.

A little like some of the roads in Alaska.

Taken through the window while driving.

More gorgeous scenery.

Especially gorgeous because of the clouds.

We are now in
Gros Morne National Park. We paid for 2 days, and got in on a family rate of $ 19.60 for the 2 vehicles, instead of 9.80 each.

We ended up in
Lomond Campground. Dry camping. Jennie and I scouted the area as soon as we arrived. We found these pitcher plants. You can see the water in the top right one. This is the first time I ever saw one in its natural habitat, and was pretty excited.

They were growing beside the boardwalk, but we wanted a closer look. We both got soaking wet feet. These plants like the bog. Oh, well, it was worth it.

It drizzles a bit while the sun was still shining. Isn't this breathtaking?

Oh, yes. Because there was no one at the gate, we decided to share a campsite. No one came around, and we left them money for one site. Cheap
dutchies!!! Because we had no hydro, we had munchies for supper. Good times.
Hi, Alida and Marcel,
ReplyDeleteAt some time in the future, please tell me how to send a comment on your blog. We enjoy very much to see the pictures and to read the comments alongside.
We did not realize that the ferry ride to Nfld took 7 hours. So you survived it, Alida. Great, and now you are back in NS.
I wonder how you are liking this trip, with the five of you, and mainly Steenwijks with a few in-laws, compared to the big crowd last summer to Alaska. I guess, this time you go from day to day and place to place, rather than the regimented atmosphere of the Alaska trip.
Please continue to enjoy your time together, so that you can look back on it with a big smile in your faces.

Hard to believe that you are gone for 3 weeks tomorrow already, how time fly's.
Things are alright over here and even so we need rain, we enjoy the beautiful weather.
